Physiology & Biophysics Cores

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics have several Cores that benefit and help the Department faculty, University Investigators and members of the Cleveland scientific Community. The Protein Biophysics and Structural Biology Core (PBSBC) provides instrumentation and technical service not available to most independent labs. Likewise, the Mouse Physiological Phenotyping core (MPPC) provides a viriety of services to investigators who may not have access to veterinary clinical instrumentation or Systems that help measure-characterize various aspects of small animal physiology. Our Xenopus Oocyte Core provides materials to labs who wish to assay protein expression using electrophysiology assays. Finally, the Department provides to the department faculty 2 (two) cell culture facilities and a cell culture room dedicated to BSL2 Level cell culture with virus propagation.

Mouse Physiological Phenotyping Core (MPPC)

The Mouse Physiological Phenotyping core (MPPC) in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics (DPB) is a state-of-art laboratory that provides instrumentation allowing investigators to characterize various aspects of small animal physiology. The MPPC operates as a multi-investigator, shared-used facility within the Department of Physiology and Biophysics (DPB) and provides training, technical expertise and assistance to all users. All instrumentation may be used with a small fee to cover consumables.
